New Beginnings

SEASON ONE

The first season of New Beginnings started with four young women ready for adventure and an opportunity to serve. They gathered each morning for devotions, Bible studies, computer lessons, and service projects. They gained work experience supporting administration, communications, training, and missions. This is part of their story:

"My goals when I joined were to learn my purpose in life, to get work experience, learn leadership skills, and basically learn how to interact with different and diverse people. Most of my goals have been achieved!" - Betty

New Beginnings is a graduate transition, leadership development, and skills training programme for young adults and recent secondary school graduates based in Nairobi, Kenya. The programme seeks to help young people to discover their gifts and calling, grow in faith and embrace a life of mission. It does this by providing discipleship and job skills training, retreats and camps, short term missions experiences, and service placements.

Chichy's Scholarship

"I have sensed the Lord telling me that I should do something which will make a difference in someone’s life, not necessarily someone I know but someone who is in need of that change. My future plan is to get a good job and do something for the disadvantaged in the society." - Chichy

Ministry Internships

After the first season of New Beginnings, two young adults were placed for ministry internships in England. Over the course of six months, the pair served with Church Army UK and other participants from around the world. Betty served in children's ministries while Bantu worked in youth and recovery ministries.

Today Betty is active in her church,  works in administration, and has a growing family. Meanwhile, Bantu serves as the founder and pastor of Sorted Life Church and the Kilifi Mission Project.
