On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the New Beginnings Class of 2024, along with their parents and facilitators Winnie, Banice, Asherrey, Marsella, Malcolm, Joseph, and George, gathered at the CHAK Guest House in Waruku for a joyous graduation ceremony. The event marked the culmination of the students’ discipleship journey, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as everyone prepared to celebrate this significant milestone.
The ceremony began with an opening prayer from Lucy, setting a reverent tone for the afternoon. Following the prayer, Winnie took the stage to give an introductory speech, warmly welcoming everyone present. She took the time to introduce the facilitators and the parents, highlighting the collective efforts that had made the discipleship journey possible. Winnie then shared the story of the New Beginnings Class of 2024, reflecting on the students’ growth throughout the program. As she spoke, Banice projected photos onto the screen, providing a visual narrative of the students’ experiences, which brought smiles and nods of recognition from the audience.
The keynote speaker, Suzette Nzola, was then welcomed to share her message. Her sermon, based on the theme As You Go, Make Disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), was both inspiring and heartfelt. Suzette encouraged the graduating class to remain steadfast in their faith as they ventured into the world to serve God. She reminded them of God’s unfailing presence, testifying to His faithfulness through a personal story about the miracle of her son, which moved the audience deeply. Her words resonated with both the students and their parents, reminding everyone of the importance of trusting in God’s plan.
Following the sermon, it was time to recognize the students’ achievements. Each graduate was presented with a certificate, a symbol of their commitment and growth throughout the discipleship program. The joy and pride were palpable as students received their certificates, with an exciting photo session capturing the celebratory moments.
The ceremony continued with a sumptuous meal, where everyone enjoyed delicious food in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. As the feasting concluded, three students—Claris, Maxwell, and Eliana—were invited to the stage to share their personal experiences from the New Beginnings program. Their heartfelt stories of transformation and the impact of the discipleship journey moved the audience and served as a testament to the program’s success.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, and Sandra’s mother offered a closing prayer, bringing the event to a graceful and thankful end. The New Beginnings Graduation Ceremony 2024 was a beautiful celebration of faith, growth, and community, leaving everyone inspired to continue their journey as disciples of Christ.
