Mary Jacinta Achieng’ Amina (Chichi) was laid to rest at her father’s home in KaAmina village on 9th December, 2017. Following memorial services in Nairobi and Nakuru, her body was transported to Siaya by a cortege of vehicles including a caravan of buses, cars, and vans. Her burial ceremony in Allego was attended by over 500 guests from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and the United States. One after another, family members, classmates, colleagues, teachers, clergy, elders, and friends testified to Chichi’s faith, love, and laughter. Together they mourned her tragic death at a tender age.
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
