A Visit to Juliana’s Place

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (James 1:27, NIV)

On July 16, 2024, the Kenya Connection (KC) team visited Juliana, an elderly, disabled widow in Siaya County. Juliana was delighted with the visit, which alleviated her loneliness. She shared that she felt unwell and mentioned a recent theft of her charcoal and roaster. The team brought food and a metallic door she had requested but couldn’t install it that day due to unforeseen circumstances. The door was installed after their second visit on July 19, 2024.

During the second visit, the team brought Juliana a mattress, having noticed she lacked one and often felt cold at night.

They also provided cooked food, as she had no one to cook for her. Winnie and Banice from the team made her bed. The team spent time with her on the veranda, prayed together, and then departed.
